Aha Moments on Wholeness

About fourteen years ago, I had my first “aha” moment as it pertained to my health, my eyes were opened to the power of the human body to self heal & self regulate and the concept of Innate Intelligence. That day I realized the power of chiropractic and the importance of having a nervous system free of interference as well as the devastating affects of stress on the human body.

I can remember that day like yesterday, I can remember the feeling of frustration for not having been told my body’s design & purpose but I also felt a sense of hope that washed over me knowing that health, healing and happiness were well within my reach.

That day marked a pivotal day in my life and I began my journey into understanding my human body and gaining more understanding as to how I could empower my body and unveiling my birthright of true health, healing & happiness!

I believe true wellness is wholeness, a balance in the seven aspects of life: physical, chemical, familial, spiritual, finances, thought, emotion & environment. I do not believe in one-sided wellness for the sum is greater than any individual part.

For me it’s a deep relationship with God, regular chiropractic check ups, proper nutrition, plenty of water, movement, deep and meaningful relationships, financial balance, positive thought and daily use of essential oils.

doTERRA essential oils are an amazing tool to help balance all areas of life facilitating the body to remain in homeostasis/balance allowing health, happiness, and healing to innately occur, as it’s designed to do so.

I truly believe that these gifts of the earth are vitally important in every home because “life happens” and it is better to be prepared for it to happen,  but also because they are an important daily habit for individuals seeking a “wholeness lifestyle”.

Human Body Users Manual

What if your birth included a “Human Body User’s Manual”?

The pursuit of Health, Healing & Happiness; begins with Education, Empowerment & Execution.

Dr. Martha Nessler

What if your birth included a “Human Body User’s Manual”?

There is a significant lack of education on the human body and it’s function…I can’t help but think how this would all be different if we came with a user’s manual!

Although it’s likely that the majority of people wouldn’t take the time to use the manual anyway!

The “Human Body User’s Manual” would have to be an easy read, simplified and digestable.

Congratulations! You have been given a beautiful gift, a human body.

It is important to realize you can not make any returns  or exchanges on your human body and that you were created exactly as you were to be created, your Creator made sure of that.

Now that you have your human body it is imperative that you understand you are responsible for the love, care, and attention needed by your human body; the upkeep of your human body is solely your responsibility.

You are responsible for the amount of love and respect your human body receives, do not expect others to love  and respcect your human body the same as you love and respect your human body.

Knowing this truth, it is important to take into consideration anything and everything that is recommended to you about your human body before you make decisions considering your human body.

Remember, you only get one human body and there is a strict no return and  no exchange policy.

Everyday Function:

Your human body possess an innate intelligence and is self-governing & self-healing.

Innate Intelligence assures your heart will beat, your lungs will breathe, your food will be digested, your legs will move your body, your fingers will type, and all other internal and external function is under the control of the central nervous system; similar to universal intelligence assuring the sun will rise and set, your internal functions will occur.

The central nervous system is the master system and directs all other functions of the human body, it is wise to have your nervous system assessed regularly to assure all messages are being relayed from the nervous system.  It is important to know that stress impairs the function of the nervous system and effects the human body’s ability to self-govern and self-heal.  There are seven areas of stress that have an effect of the function of your human body: chemical, physical, emotional, familial, financial, spiritual, and environmental.

Stress comes in two forms eustress or good stress and distress or negative stress.

The human body will send you signals when it is in a state of stress or dis-ease whether it is eustress or distress.  These signals come in the form of, but not limited to: diarrhea, aching head, sore muscles, constipation, palpitations, or other maladies and it is imperative that you acknowledge the signal and seek immediate balance.  These signals are the number one communication your human body has with you, please do not “shut them off” instead “balance them”.

The truth about stress is some of it is within your control and other stress is beyond your control–do your best to not contribute to the interruption of your human body’s function via unnecessary stressors.

Everyday Maintenance:

Body Fuel:

You are responsible for what you put into your human body, the fuels you put into your body will determine the function you will receive from your body; “organic fuel” is recommend for enhanced performance.  Your human body is organic within nature and utilizes “organic material” fuel, which is why consuming “whole foods” is the best fuel for your body.  You are not “man made” and “man made fuel” may impair function.

Organic fuel is a term for all the fuel that comes from the earth and when “organic”, “grass fed”, and/or “natural”  can be used, do so, it is the purest form of fuel.

Body Function:

Your are responsible for all your human parts both inside and outside, remember the internal function is governed by Innate Intelligence but, you are still in charge of any interference and maintaining integrity.

Your human body needs to be kept moving … motion is life.  The more you keep your body moving early on the more your body will move later.  The limbs of the human body require motion externally to stay lubricated internally.   Your thoughts control your reality, keeping positive and motivating thoughts will empower and inspire your human body to function better, think of it as fuel for the mind.

Dis-Ease and Emergency Management:

In the case of dis-ease or even disease it is important to remember “there are no returns or replacements” it’s easy to forget when adrenaline is rushing and your human body is in “flight or fight” mode and trying to save your life.   Even in an emergency, do your best to stay in control of your human body and seek to become properly balanced.

It is advised that you seek and utilize “organic and natural solutions” first and that you have your nervous system assessed by a healthcare professional, such as a chiropractor to assure that there is no interference with your Innate Intelligence.

In case of an extreme emergency, when your human body is in danger, it is important to have council pre-established so that you have someone who can help to make decisions for you and your human body.   It is advised to establish your “council” in advance and making sure they to understand the importance of education, empowerment, and execution and have a fundamental belief in a human’s right to Health, Happiness, and Healing.

Do remember that your human body was created with intention and came with all necessary parts and organic chemicals, it is not lacking.

If it is recommended that you remove a piece of your human body, it is your responsibility to gather all necessary knowledge and to ask a plethora of questions and assure that you have exhausted all possible “natural solutions” because you cannot just go buy a spare part.  Additionally, it is extremely important to realize that if in the event of an emergency, removal of a component of your human body such as an organ becomes necessary in order to sustain life, then certain and necessary modifications will need to occur because every aspect of the human body is important!

If you are recommended a “man made chemical” for your organic function please realize that it is your responsibility to assure that you have learned what the chemical is for, why you need it, long term side effects, and any other information as it pertains to the “man made chemical” and it is advised that you seek “natural solutions” when possible.

MOST IMPORTANT PLEASE remember:  you are solely responsible for you human body and there is a strictly no returns, no exchanges policy!

“The time has come for individuals to take back the reigns of health care and steer their individual journey to Health, Happiness, and Healing”.

Take Back the Reigns to H H & H

But, in order to achieve the three H’s: Health, Happiness, & Healing, individual’s need the three E’s: Education, Empowerment, & Execution; this manual is a MUST READ.  The three E’s: Education, Empowerment, and Execution are crucial in the pursuit of Health, Happiness, & Healing!  The truth is there is a major lack of Education and Empowerment, which diminishes the likelihood of execution; it’s difficult to execute that which you do not know or without the power to know you can.

The shift begins with you, by …

 asking more questions,

doing your research,

and then making an informed  and educated decisions.

“The pursuit of Health, Healing & Happiness begins with Education, Empowerment & Execution.”

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.”

Who’s really in charge of your health, happiness & healing?

“The time has come for individuals to take back the reigns of health care and steer their individual journey to Health, Happiness, & Healing.”

-Dr. Martha Nessler

Who’s really in charge of your Health, Happiness & Healing?

Is a tough question to ask and a tough question to answer, but it’s important to seek inward and ask yourself an important question, “Who holds the reigns to your human body and your human experience?”

Too many people have handed over the reigns of their health to other individuals, professionals, family members, or other individuals to make decisions for them as it pertains to THEIR human body …

… They are too discouraged, too sick, too over it or more and have relinquished authority of their human body to others … but, only YOU can truly care for your human body … no one else can … it doesn’t hold the same value.

The TRUTH is that every human being at birth is born with FULL RIGHTS to have Health, Happiness & Healing … BUT no one ever talks about that … they talk about the disease, the sadness, and loss of health.

Early on we learn about disease, sadness, and lack of health…where is the education, early on about Health, Happiness & Healing?

We wait until someone has lost their health, their happiness, and their faith in healing … then we educate on how to heal and regain health and happiness ….

…. It’s backwards and the process of healing and regaining health and happiness is grueling, it’s always easier to maintain.

In our modern technological society we are more educated on how to maintain our cars and our computers than we are our human body, when the two aforementioned are replaceable, while the human body is not.

We are taught that some organs are “unnecessary” and most drugs are necessary, when in fact all organs may not hold the same value but all have value.

How have we gotten here?  I really have no idea the exact path that humans have taken to get here, although I have a pretty good idea, but it’s not how we got here … it’s how are we going to get back?

Make the choice … I did … trust me you’ll thank me.  It starts with the choice, which is the foundation; we then build from that point.

I have decided to share my journey, my passion, my education, and my deep belief in the amazing human body in a series of blogs … because had I not had my “AHA” moment at twenty two years old when I took back my reigns and began my journey toward Happier, Healthier, and Healed existence I would have needed this too!

I’m going to get RAW and REAL with you about AUTHENTIC WELLNESS, stay tuned if you are inspired!

Is it possible to regret what you have done, yet not regret who you are?

Is it possible to regret what you have done, yet not regret who you are?

Or by regretting what you have done are you regretting who you have become?

It is inevitable that throughout life, most, if not all, individuals will have one experience or more that leaves them asking internal questions such as, “What was I thinking?” or “Why did I do that?” or “I can’t believe I thought that was a good idea!”

The interesting paradox in life is all that we have done in the past creates who we are today in the present, yet so many people live in regret over what has happened in the past.

I have definitely had my share of experiences that were unpleasant and at the time I felt extreme sadness or regret in regards to the event, but there is a difference between experiencing regret and allowing regret to minimize your experience.

There was a time when I didn’t understand that both what had happened to me and that I had done, positive or negative, depending on how I perceived it; molded who I was today.

Once I was able to understand that every event I had experienced, whether I was actively or inactively involved, had a direct influence and contributed to my existence and my self-evolution.photo

By realizing each event plays an integral role in one’s journey, allows gratitude for all experiences, regardless of perception, because each event plays an integral role in one’s evolution as a human being.  It is imperative that individual’s acknowledge where they have been and what they have done reveal who an individual is today.

Exhausted from living in regret? You are not alone.

You are simple shift in perspective away from setting yourself free and releasing the weight of sadness that only anchors us to perceived negative experiences, freeing yourself to fully live.

Shift your perspective and watch your existence elevate with these easy steps:

Change the meaning of the event for YOU.

It is important to understand that YOU give meaning to all your experiences; they are not negative or positive until you decide their meaning in regards to your perception of the experience. YOU and you alone decide whether an experience is positive or negative.

It’s okay if your perception varies from others involved in the same situation.

It is possible that two people can have the same event happen at the same time, same place, same environment, and have a different perceived outcome.

Live in gratitude for all your experiences, while you were creating them they were simultaneously creating you – molding you.

Simply shift your perceived outcome of the event(s) from negative to positive – how can something that has contributed to your existence be negative?

Every event that has happened to you over the course of time has contributed to the individual you are today, without all that YOU have been through YOU would not be you!

Replace regret with content, “I am content with what has happened”, relish in the knowing that all events have propelled you to your current position in life – embrace gratitude.

Don’t let past experiences paralyze you, free yourself of regret and allow them to propel you.

It is common that individuals allow events to paralyze them, rather than embracing the experience and allowing it to propel them and enhance their human expression and existence.

There is a misconception that only the positive experiences in life propel us and mold us, shockingly, if it is allowed the negative experiences often have the greatest ability to enhance human existence.

Shift your perspective – shift your life!

When force is applied to matter it either molds it or breaks it, the same is true of each and every event in your life, they will mold you or break you – be putty in God’s hand and allow Him to mold you!

What’s Dr. Martha Nessler Up To?

One of the most common questions I am asked since my move is, “What are you up to?” and to be honest, I’m up to a few things, one of which is RAW [Real] Authentic Wellness the rest is ever evolving.

With the massive push toward wellness the need for a hub was evident – there are so many sites on “wellness” it can be daunting trying to separate real wellness from the “hype”.

I am very open, that I have not always been a wellness junkie, although my brother, Jon has always noticed my love and indulgence in all things health – he used to say I collected “health foods”.   There is truth in his words, innately we are born to consume and devour Real, RAW, and Natural foods but we train our bodies to crave synthetic foods and trick our innate into believing we need them.

The concept of altering innate “wants and needs” is why starting wellness as early on as possible in human beings is extremely important, it’s a whole other blog all together and a topic I will be digging into and getting real on, I owe it to the future generations of the world.

Just like most people a sickness/diagnosis/disease really spurred my desire to indulge in the wellness paradigm. I can definitely say that at about fifteen I started dipping my toe in the wellness pool testing to see if it was the right “temperature”, then at twenty-two I got in about waist deep or half way in, and my twenty-six I took the plunge and went all the way!

Personally, I have no regrets on the decision to live “well” and professionally, I strongly support and applaud those who make the shift toward wellness, whether it is a “want to” or a “have to”.

To be real with you, wellness is no longer an option, it is the way, whether you choose now because you “want to” or later because you “have to” you will choose wellness.

With the need of wellness increasing, I saw the need for an online hub, resource, one-stop shop, call it what you will, where people could get information on real wellness for an optimal existence. Yes there are a lot of sites out there, some our amazing and others are simply not wellness (just trying to use the wellness movement for a financial ride), most are laser focused on one area of wellness or a portion of an area, and lots of them are boring and over whelming,

As a chiropractor and professional speaker, my biggest frustration was where to send people to get the necessary info for a balanced life. The look on an individual’s face when you tell them that you are excited they are wanting to maximize their human potential, now go look at these twelve sites is priceless.

People are maxed out as it is, which is usually why they are needing wellness, I literally felt bad knowing some people were completely discouraged by the daunting task of “figuring it out” and others actually felt more stress “attempting wellness”.

To be Real with you, I get exhausted clicking through the numerous websites to get balanced information on wellness and I love it personally and professionally. Thankfully, frustration never stalls me it motivates me, which is not the case for everyone – a hub was evident.

One day, I had this revelation, it was a tap in the shoulder from God followed by a whisper that was crystal clear, “Create a movement to educate and empower individuals, igniting in them the desire to seek health, healing, and happiness through Real, RAW, and Natural ways”.

That was the beginning of what is Raw [Real] Authentic Wellness and what evolves each day to be the hub of Real Wellness keeping it RAW, in the natural state and authentic to human beings to maximize existence.

Simply put, I want to encourage everyone to be REAL Human BEINGs! Will you join me?

Be FREE, Be YOU, Be RAW

I once heard, “you have to get, lost to truly find yourself” and moving across the world revealed the truth in this statement.

I have always been intrigued by the fact that people thought they knew me better than I knew myself, and lately I have been intrigued by the fact- that I thought I knew me. Right now you either get what I am saying, or you think it’s crazy for me to say that there is a possibility – YOU don’t even know yourself.

Before you decide whether to subscribe to my blog or to go bashing me on Facebook for being completely crazy, I encourage you to read this blog in its entirety.

There was a time when the one thing that drove me crazy was when people thought they knew “who I was” or eluded to knowing how I operate, almost better than I knew myself. Now a year and a half later I laugh that I thought I knew who I was before moving across the world.

I once heard a powerful statement, “your greatest strength is your weaknesses on overload,” from a dear friend and coach, Dr. Barry Warren. When I first heard this statement, I questioned Barry as to what he was talking about, but after I allowed it to reverb within I was able to see the truth and apply it to my journey.

Most people would say I was outgoing, eccentric, and extroverted as they see it. Truth, be told, I am shy, nervous, and introverted; unless I am comfortable. The key word being comfortable; therefore, my patients, friends, family, and audiences would never believe that I was a nervous, shy, introvert, who was nervous about what others thought; that’s because they know me in my comfort zone. My true friends, like my boyfriend, Dean and best friends, Amanda, Breann, Blair, and Janice; know this and are probably glad “the cat is out of the bag.”

I’m not sure I can explain what happens to an individual when they leave everything they know to be true and start fresh in a completely new space, in another country, another time zone, and in a different hemisphere. Something happens at a soul level, when you are suddenly and completely out of your comfort zone, and no one knows you.

I am so blessed to have an awesome person like, Dean, with me on this transformational experience, but even he will tell you that being transplanted to New Zealand has caused a spark, allowing more of me to shine. There is a strong possibility that the move had nothing to do with it, but rather I was finally “okay” with me; none-the-less getting lost allowed me to find myself.

Have you ever stopped and evaluated yourself? Don’t worry I hadn’t either, until I moved to New Zealand, and all the sudden everyone was trying to find out about the new American girl in Tuakau, New Zealand. I should mention; Tuakau’s population is 3,500 and that I am the only American in the town and one of maybe a dozen in the whole county. The energy of everyone wanting to know who I was, motivated me to do the same.

I was about to find out who Martha Nessler was? Suddenly, I was removed from ALL of my comfort zones, from anything and anyone familiar, and I was free to express me fully. As exciting as it sounds it was quite scary.

I had a blank canvas and free to paint and express. It was at this point I realized the impact my family, friends, teachers, and preachers (MFTP) had on me since day one, but here I was and the only thing controlling my expression of self was myself.

Don’t worry I am still me, just a bit freer.

Today, I found myself, on July 4th (the southern hemisphere), walking on the beach in cowboy boots, my favorite jeans, my Marmot down coat, and favorite two silk scarfs, whimsically entwined. Yes, I said cowboy boots on the beach, which I know my dad is smiling as he reads this.

It was the cowboy boots that lead to this blog. As I stared into the beautiful ocean that lay in front of me, knowing that Dean was watching with a smile, I began to realize the RAW beauty of my transformation.

I was still me a farm girl from the Midwest, transplanted by love to a beautiful island half way across the world; same woman, same boots, just a bit more authentic to herself.

There was a day, when I would have worried a bit more about wearing my cowboy boots on the beach, but today I felt FREE in my boots, knowing I am me!

It is my wish that on this Independence Day, July, 4, 2014, is a day which everyone feels a bit more freedom of self expression!

Much Love. Keep it Real, RAW, and Natural and Be A REAL Human BEING!

Innately,

Are You Looking for Love in All the Wrong Places?

I have always heard that all people are created equal and more and more I am finding the validity of that exact statement.  I am not denying that there are factors which separate individuals and give us our own individual set of characteristics, but the one thread that ties us all together is the pursuit of love.  Each and every person I have ever encountered is looking for the same thing, love.  Seeking to find someone to love them and in turn someone to love.  Just as common as it is for an individual to seek love, they search relentlessly for something that is right below their nose or more clearly right below their skin.

Self-love is not a concept that is touched on much in society, and truthfully I am the only person I have heard speak of it in such a way that emphasizes the importance as it pertains to a healthy existence.  In society, we are taught to be selfless early on and I do believe in the importance of serving others and reaping what you sow is a key aspect of a healthy life, a more rewarding life.  But more importantly, I know the importance of loving yourself and I believe that loving yourself more allows one to serve at a higher level because they are serving selflessly and not seeking or needing to be filled up.

More and more I see it in my interactions with coaching, friendships, patient – doctor, and daily conversation, that people have a lack of self love.  A couple times a day I encounter an individual looking for love – love from a significant other, children, friend, even their job and the list goes on.  Rarely to I hear acknowledgment from another person that they are seeking to love themselves more.  This really is tragic considering loving oneself with one hundred percent self- acceptance, self-image, and self-respect is the key to receiving love in abundance in all relationships.

The law of giving and receiving and/or reaping and sowing is perfectly applied in the aspect of love.  The more love you give yourself the more love you will attract into your life, therefore creating an overflow of love to share with others.   All too often people give and give and give to others making sure they “feel the love”—but the one person they forget to love is themselves.  It’s a common misconception that you are to put yourself last and to fill up another with love.  It leaves you with the misconception that another person must create love for you and that another’s love has authority over you.  This pattern leads to a road with no real destination, because another cannot love you more than you love yourself.

Breaking the cycle in your own life will cascade into the lives of those with whom you are in a relationship.  It all starts with a willingness to create abundant love in your life above and beyond any other person, yes, to fall in love with yourself, your innate being before you fall in love with another.  To be able to see yourself as the perfect being you were created and to selflessly love yourself as you would another human being.  Authentic love of yourself will create the possibility for you to attract authentic love into your own life, allowing your love to spill over into the world.  You owe it to yourself and the world to start today and fall madly in love with your innate self—purely, madly, deeply.

Choose To Be Passionate

Seen in the October 2012 issue of the Chiropractic Journal (http://www.thechiropracticjournal.com/news17.php?M=october&Y=2012)

Just like anything in life, being passionate is a choice. Everyone possesses a dormant spark of passion, just waiting to be ignited when given permission to take the reins. Passion is the fuel that propels individuals in the fulfillment of personal purpose. When they set their inner passion free they begin to illuminate the world with their spirit. Passionate people allow internal guidance to take the lead and guide their experience in their external environment. Simply put, they let their heart lead.

Passion is intense and vibrant, uncontrollable and uncontainable. Passion is an energetic expression of an individual. Passion illuminates your purpose and expands your mission field. The energy around passion is intriguing, contagious, and energizing. In passion lies the secret to loving more, serving more, doing more and in turn having a life that’s more than you could have ever dreamed because energetically you’re creating more. It’s this internal energy that allows people to create the life of their dreams. Passion is the fuel that both perseveres and endures.

Passionate individuals have the ability to light up a room with the energy of life that emanates from within, fully expressing their innate. It isn’t that people don’t want to be passionate, it’s that they are afraid to be passionate. Being passionate means letting go, which is so hard for so many because being comfortable is much easier. By letting go a person begins to strike the match igniting their internal passion and catapulting them into a more passionate existence.

A more passionate existence enhances your life and all that it encompasses including your significant other, career, family, and most importantly yourself. Once you ignite the wick that resides within you, you light up your life and illuminate the world around you with innate love. Your soul purpose then begins to surface and navigate you in the direction that best serves you.

Falling in love with who you are as an innate being is the foundation of unbridled passion. Allowing yourself to alleviate any self-criticism and to see yourself as divinely created with perfect intention. Slowly, you’ll begin to have self-acceptance for who you are, a better self-image, and the utmost respect for yourself alleviating any worthiness issues or judgment. Once you stop critiquing yourself, you’ll see that what others think of you doesn’t matter and that nobody can create your experiences but you.

It’s imperative to realize life’s a journey that’s yours to create and entrusting innate to lead will ensure success! We’re all innate beings on an innate journey and God’s intention for existence is that we’re able to create the life of our dreams.

Each individual, as the sole author of his or her own journey, is upon conception given a pen and paper to write a love letter to the world. Too many times family and friends assume the role of co-author of someone else’s journey, letting their thots, standards, expectations, and emotions dictate anothers experience. Rather, loved ones are supporting actors along for the ride. Not letting one’s external environment control his or her internal expression is key to increasing passion and falling in love with life! Being a passionate person, I can tell you that once you’ve decided to let passion take the lead, my best advice is to hang on and enjoy the ride. By definition, passion’s uncontrollable, untamable, and must be endured. So, expect to have abounding love, heightened sensations, boosted successes, and a little more turbulence at times. But, if you seek a journey that will fulfill your heart’s desire, heighten your earthly experience, elevate your consciousness, and illuminate your world with innate love, then it’s worth the ride!

So, get out your pen and begin your love letter to the world – and leave a legacy of passionate love to inspire others to do the same.

Stop Telling Stories and Start Living Your Life

People love to tell stories.   The love of story telling begins as a child, sitting on a parent or grandparents lap listening as they take you to a world outside the one in which you currently reside! The more creative, imaginative, and emotional the storyteller, the better the story, the more real the story becomes. It’s interesting how we carry certain things through our lives, such as telling stories.   The only difference is as we age rather than being told a story we tell ourselves a story and the more creative, imaginative, and emotional we are about “our story” the more real it becomes.

Your thoughts create your reality therefore what you think about you bring about.  Stop and think for a second exactly what you are thinking about.  When you evaluate your thoughts you may realize why you are not living the life of your dreams.  You also may see exactly why you are creating the exact set of circumstances you are so eager to be free from.  Your external is a mirror image of your internal; if you don’t like what you in the exterior world you live in, some internal housekeeping is necessary.

We are at a point in time where the majority of people in society are not happy and while some are seeking change and growth and working towards creating the life of their dreams, many have no idea where to begin.  Whether you are just now starting to make a shift in your perspective to turn your frown upside down and your world around or you are an individual seeking higher awareness it is important to assess the stories you tell yourself.  You and only you can make the necessary shift to stop telling your story and start living out your dream!

This past year I have been coaching people, traveling their journey with them, as they begin to create the life of their dreams and letting go of the stories that enslave them.   I have learned so much about each individual, myself, and about the ability of an individual to tell a story about him or herself or an event so much that it becomes the reality in which they live.  Events, those we perceive as positive and negative are inevitable, attaching to and living in the confines of those events is a choice.

We always get to choose and we always get to live with the result of that choice.  Every action has a reaction, which usually depicts our next action.  Life becomes an accumulation of an individuals actions and reactions.  Life can be and should be utter bliss and beginning to LIVE the life of your dreams takes one small action, simply letting go of the story that imprisons you, your perceived reality.   A small action that shuts the door to the story you are telling and opens the door to the future you begin creating.

Sit down and get clear on what is your reality and what is your perceived reality.  You may be surprised at the stories you are telling yourself, dwelling in, and keeping you from really living.  Love yourself enough to let go of your story and begin living the life of your dreams.  Only you can create your reality, create one that is worth living in!

I have developed a protocol to assist in letting go of your story by falling in love with yourself.  The majority of Americans are not in love with who they are at an innate level.  I was there at one point, so I know.  If you nee help with this process please let me know by contacting me at drm@drmarthanessler.com .  Know that you are not alone, unless you choose to be.   Allow yourself to let go and begin to love yourself again or for the first time!

Love. Laugh. Adjust.

Is Your Story Serving You or Enslaving You?

In Memory of Pamela Jean Murphy Nessler, who will be forever missed for the mother, wife, daughter, sister, cousin, friend, teacher, aunt, and so much more by so many. While it was two short years I was blessed by her presence, like my father to said, “I was lucky to have known you at all”.  My mother has passed on many years agobut today I live and today I am me and she is with the Lord. I love you, Mom. Til we meet again.

My mother passed away on April 19, 1982. From what I have heard and innately know at a soul level she was a beautiful women on the inside and out, with an infectious laugh, a heart of gold, and innate ability to touch the heart of every person who had the honor of sharing a moment of time with her. As my dad so eloquently said, “I was lucky to have known her at all”, simply stated yet complexly profound. In honor of her passing, I will share how losing my mother has been a catalyst in my life rather than just another story that I tell. Losing my mother at two years and 4 months old was a pivotal point in my life because I have honored it as such, while it could have been an anchor instead it is a root that grounds me to who I am and supports the woman into whom I constantly evolve.

Every single person has had an event in his or her life that made an impact in such a way that it became a “story”. A story that they tell and re-tell to loved ones, dear friends, to anyone who will listen or just over and over via internal dialogue. Stories are very important, they are a part of the journey that leads us to our complete evolution as a human on earth. Stories are important, in compilation they make us who we are and just the same, if we allow them to take such form, they can be detrimental and keep us from truly living!

I view stories as lessons and depending on how you view it, fortunately or unfortunately, lessons are learned and sometimes they burn. Every single “story” is in your life to teach you something and to add to who you are to prepare you for what you are to do. Lessons are unavoidable but how you use the “story” of the lesson is your choice. Stories should make you and not break you nor take you from living. It’s important to ask, “Is your story serving you or enslaving you?” Stories can either be anchors or roots. Just like most things in life you can decide whether or not your story is one that serves you like a root serves a plant or enslaves you like an anchor enslaves a boat.

Anchors keep a boat from moving keeping it EXACTLY where the boat was stationed. This holds true for a story that you allow to keep you where you in a certain place in your life. Telling the same story over and over without learning the lesson of that story will stop you from growing from the experience and moving on to the next “chapter” or lesson in your life. Just like an anchor allows a boat to move a little, you may move a little but you won’t really go anywhere until you release the anchor.

Roots facilitate the growth of a plant by stabilizing and grounding it regardless of how tumultuous the condition, providing security and support. Roots are an integral part of the plant but they are not the plant, just like your story is not “who you are”. So many times people allow their story to depict who they are rather support who they have become and are continually becoming. Roots do not impede growth but rather facilitate growth. Roots also absorb nutrients and water from the soil to nurture the plant and feed the plant internally. Fertilizer provides even more nutrition to a plant, which is absorbed via the root system. Being raised on a farm I will tell you that manure is one of the best fertilizers what if we viewed all the events that seem “negative” or as we call it “shit”, as the fertilizer of life how much would we grow? The shitty stuff doesn’t seem as bad when you realize it facilitates growth and is absorbed into you at a cellular level.

The shift from anchor to root is easy if you are ready and choose to make the shift. Beginning to shift takes two words “THANK YOU”, acknowledging your gratitude for the experience. Gratitude is the most healing state one can be in it is quantum state. Quantum state is not positive or negative but simply just “is”. It is in quantum state where love grows. Remember love is the highest vibration making all things possible including healing. Start today by saying, “THANK YOU” because without each and every experience you would not be you! Stop telling your story and start living your life!

Love. Laugh. Adjust.
