Aha Moments on Wholeness

About fourteen years ago, I had my first “aha” moment as it pertained to my health, my eyes were opened to the power of the human body to self heal & self regulate and the concept of Innate Intelligence. That day I realized the power of chiropractic and the importance of having a nervous system free of interference as well as the devastating affects of stress on the human body.

I can remember that day like yesterday, I can remember the feeling of frustration for not having been told my body’s design & purpose but I also felt a sense of hope that washed over me knowing that health, healing and happiness were well within my reach.

That day marked a pivotal day in my life and I began my journey into understanding my human body and gaining more understanding as to how I could empower my body and unveiling my birthright of true health, healing & happiness!

I believe true wellness is wholeness, a balance in the seven aspects of life: physical, chemical, familial, spiritual, finances, thought, emotion & environment. I do not believe in one-sided wellness for the sum is greater than any individual part.

For me it’s a deep relationship with God, regular chiropractic check ups, proper nutrition, plenty of water, movement, deep and meaningful relationships, financial balance, positive thought and daily use of essential oils.

doTERRA essential oils are an amazing tool to help balance all areas of life facilitating the body to remain in homeostasis/balance allowing health, happiness, and healing to innately occur, as it’s designed to do so.

I truly believe that these gifts of the earth are vitally important in every home because “life happens” and it is better to be prepared for it to happen,  but also because they are an important daily habit for individuals seeking a “wholeness lifestyle”.

Stop Telling Stories and Start Living Your Life

People love to tell stories.   The love of story telling begins as a child, sitting on a parent or grandparents lap listening as they take you to a world outside the one in which you currently reside! The more creative, imaginative, and emotional the storyteller, the better the story, the more real the story becomes. It’s interesting how we carry certain things through our lives, such as telling stories.   The only difference is as we age rather than being told a story we tell ourselves a story and the more creative, imaginative, and emotional we are about “our story” the more real it becomes.

Your thoughts create your reality therefore what you think about you bring about.  Stop and think for a second exactly what you are thinking about.  When you evaluate your thoughts you may realize why you are not living the life of your dreams.  You also may see exactly why you are creating the exact set of circumstances you are so eager to be free from.  Your external is a mirror image of your internal; if you don’t like what you in the exterior world you live in, some internal housekeeping is necessary.

We are at a point in time where the majority of people in society are not happy and while some are seeking change and growth and working towards creating the life of their dreams, many have no idea where to begin.  Whether you are just now starting to make a shift in your perspective to turn your frown upside down and your world around or you are an individual seeking higher awareness it is important to assess the stories you tell yourself.  You and only you can make the necessary shift to stop telling your story and start living out your dream!

This past year I have been coaching people, traveling their journey with them, as they begin to create the life of their dreams and letting go of the stories that enslave them.   I have learned so much about each individual, myself, and about the ability of an individual to tell a story about him or herself or an event so much that it becomes the reality in which they live.  Events, those we perceive as positive and negative are inevitable, attaching to and living in the confines of those events is a choice.

We always get to choose and we always get to live with the result of that choice.  Every action has a reaction, which usually depicts our next action.  Life becomes an accumulation of an individuals actions and reactions.  Life can be and should be utter bliss and beginning to LIVE the life of your dreams takes one small action, simply letting go of the story that imprisons you, your perceived reality.   A small action that shuts the door to the story you are telling and opens the door to the future you begin creating.

Sit down and get clear on what is your reality and what is your perceived reality.  You may be surprised at the stories you are telling yourself, dwelling in, and keeping you from really living.  Love yourself enough to let go of your story and begin living the life of your dreams.  Only you can create your reality, create one that is worth living in!

I have developed a protocol to assist in letting go of your story by falling in love with yourself.  The majority of Americans are not in love with who they are at an innate level.  I was there at one point, so I know.  If you nee help with this process please let me know by contacting me at drm@drmarthanessler.com .  Know that you are not alone, unless you choose to be.   Allow yourself to let go and begin to love yourself again or for the first time!

Is Your Story Serving You or Enslaving You?

In Memory of Pamela Jean Murphy Nessler, who will be forever missed for the mother, wife, daughter, sister, cousin, friend, teacher, aunt, and so much more by so many. While it was two short years I was blessed by her presence, like my father to said, “I was lucky to have known you at all”.  My mother has passed on many years agobut today I live and today I am me and she is with the Lord. I love you, Mom. Til we meet again.

My mother passed away on April 19, 1982. From what I have heard and innately know at a soul level she was a beautiful women on the inside and out, with an infectious laugh, a heart of gold, and innate ability to touch the heart of every person who had the honor of sharing a moment of time with her. As my dad so eloquently said, “I was lucky to have known her at all”, simply stated yet complexly profound. In honor of her passing, I will share how losing my mother has been a catalyst in my life rather than just another story that I tell. Losing my mother at two years and 4 months old was a pivotal point in my life because I have honored it as such, while it could have been an anchor instead it is a root that grounds me to who I am and supports the woman into whom I constantly evolve.

Every single person has had an event in his or her life that made an impact in such a way that it became a “story”. A story that they tell and re-tell to loved ones, dear friends, to anyone who will listen or just over and over via internal dialogue. Stories are very important, they are a part of the journey that leads us to our complete evolution as a human on earth. Stories are important, in compilation they make us who we are and just the same, if we allow them to take such form, they can be detrimental and keep us from truly living!

I view stories as lessons and depending on how you view it, fortunately or unfortunately, lessons are learned and sometimes they burn. Every single “story” is in your life to teach you something and to add to who you are to prepare you for what you are to do. Lessons are unavoidable but how you use the “story” of the lesson is your choice. Stories should make you and not break you nor take you from living. It’s important to ask, “Is your story serving you or enslaving you?” Stories can either be anchors or roots. Just like most things in life you can decide whether or not your story is one that serves you like a root serves a plant or enslaves you like an anchor enslaves a boat.

Anchors keep a boat from moving keeping it EXACTLY where the boat was stationed. This holds true for a story that you allow to keep you where you in a certain place in your life. Telling the same story over and over without learning the lesson of that story will stop you from growing from the experience and moving on to the next “chapter” or lesson in your life. Just like an anchor allows a boat to move a little, you may move a little but you won’t really go anywhere until you release the anchor.

Roots facilitate the growth of a plant by stabilizing and grounding it regardless of how tumultuous the condition, providing security and support. Roots are an integral part of the plant but they are not the plant, just like your story is not “who you are”. So many times people allow their story to depict who they are rather support who they have become and are continually becoming. Roots do not impede growth but rather facilitate growth. Roots also absorb nutrients and water from the soil to nurture the plant and feed the plant internally. Fertilizer provides even more nutrition to a plant, which is absorbed via the root system. Being raised on a farm I will tell you that manure is one of the best fertilizers what if we viewed all the events that seem “negative” or as we call it “shit”, as the fertilizer of life how much would we grow? The shitty stuff doesn’t seem as bad when you realize it facilitates growth and is absorbed into you at a cellular level.

The shift from anchor to root is easy if you are ready and choose to make the shift. Beginning to shift takes two words “THANK YOU”, acknowledging your gratitude for the experience. Gratitude is the most healing state one can be in it is quantum state. Quantum state is not positive or negative but simply just “is”. It is in quantum state where love grows. Remember love is the highest vibration making all things possible including healing. Start today by saying, “THANK YOU” because without each and every experience you would not be you! Stop telling your story and start living your life!

Chiropractic: Miracle vs. Expectation

Everyone loves a miracle. Miracles provide that feel good endorphin rush that just when you think a scenario has no hope of changing direction, “poof!” and God’s divine intervention shines through and the tables are turned. Have we lowered our expectations due to lack of hope in such a way that expectations are often misconstrued as miracles?

What it is a miracle? The Webster-Merriam Dictionary defines a miracle as “an extraordinary event manifesting divine intervention in human affairs”. A miracle is something unexplainable that occurs, an extraordinary unexplainable event. Being stranded in a desert where there has NEVER been water and suddenly you see an oasis ahead of you or being ran over by a car and walking away with NO injuries are both perfect examples of miracles; both are instances where there was clearly divine intervention. A miracle is always unexpected and exemplifies God’s perfect intent.

Expected is the antonym of unexpected and is defined in the same dictionary as “to anticipate or look forward to the coming or occurrence of” or “to consider probable of”. Expecting something will happen is an expectation. Each year you expect the grass to turn green, the flowers to bloom, and the seasons to change because they are normal occurrences. Expectations are accompanied by a sense of knowing they too occur via the intention of God but because they are rhythmic in occurrence often they are not given the recognition of a miracle.

Expectations are of divine intention and miracles are of divine intervention. The innate function of the all-living creatures is divine intention; all living creatures possess an innate. Innate joins two cells and produces a human in 280 days, wings birds and intuitively they fly, fang animals and inherently they know to kill there own food, and gives breath and life to every living creature. All living creatures possess an inborn potential to function and heal themselves innate is the driving force. Innate delivers a mental impulse that allows for full manifestation of life, innate must be expressed.

To the educated mind the releasing of the imprisoned impulse in chiropractic is often viewed as a “chiropractic miracle”. The phrase “chiropractic miracle” is often used in such a context as, “My friend who was dying of cancer went to this chiropractor and got well. It was really a miracle!” Or “My friend’s son was born deaf and started seeing this chiropractor and now he has full hearing. It was truly a miracle. We are just so blessed.” These are just a couple of examples that exemplify how innate’s inherent manifestation is often perceived by man to be a miracle. “Chiropractic Expectation” better explains innate’s intention. “Chiropractic Expectation” reinforces the anticipation and probability that what is happening is exactly what is supposed to happen.

Knowing innate’s intention and complexity I can see where chiropractic releasing the imprisoned impulse can appear miraculous to the educated man. But, it is imperative for the preservation and progression of chiropractic that we educate and explain so that chiropractic is understood as an expectation and not a miracle. This differentiation will allow people to begin to grasp that chiropractic is not health thru divine intervention but that it facilitates full expression of innate via divine intention.

The Thot-Flash: Educated vs. Innate

The Thot-Flash: Educated vs. Innate

Sunday as I was checking out in the grocery store and I casually said, “Hello!” to the kind gentleman behind me in line.  He was somewhere in his late 70’s, had on what appeared to be is Sunday cowboy hat, a long beard that had stood the test of time, and around his neck was a blue tie that had a scripture written on it.  He was a kind man and the combination of his warm smile and adorable attire brought an immediate smile to my face and warmed my heart.  We exchanged a few words and then silently I waited for my total.  Immediately as the cashier said, “That will be $43.76.”

He said, “Will you get mine too?”

Innately I responded, “If you need me to I will.”

He shrugged and said, “No, it’s all good.”

I told him that is was no trouble and that God blesses those who bless others so I was more than happy to take care of his groceries.  He again said it was “ok”.  Innately I knew it wasn’t.  As I gathered my four bags I realized his purchase was small containing only a 12-pack of toilet paper and some Ocean Spray Cranberry Juice.  I watched him for a second as he looked thru his wallet and fumbled for cash and my Innate kept nudging me to pay.  I didn’t know how to pay for his groceries without embarrassing him at that point but internally my Innate was having a dialogue with me that I should pay.  I turned and walked out of the store, while I was leaving the scenario my Innate was very much still in the previous scenario and I began to know I SHOULD have paid for his groceries and NEEDED to pay for his groceries.  As I loaded my groceries and began to back out of my parking spot my Innate began to get louder, if your Innate is anything like mine when it gets loud you listen.  So, I reach in my purse, pulled out a twenty and sat in my car waiting for the gentleman to exit.  My educated mind began to interfere and cloud my mind with thoughts: “You can’t just give this random guy $20!” and “You are going to look like a stalker waiting for an elderly man to get in his car.” and “Have you lost your mind?” Just as he got in his car my educated mind began to take the lead and I began to drive off and just as I was about to leave my Innate got loud and said, “WHAT? Are you doing? There is a reason that man asked you to pay for his groceries.  There is a reason you were there in line at that EXACT moment in time.  There was a reason you reached out to him with a warm hello and he reached out to you for help.  Now turn around and give him that twenty dollar bill!” I immediately turned around parked behind him as to block him in (now I am a crazy lady not only stalking an elderly man but barricading him in his parking spot!), I jumped of my car with the $20 in hand, knocked on his window quietly and as he opened the door I handed him the cash and lovingly said, “God wanted me to buy your groceries and I want you to have this money.”  I also, told him that he was loved and that his smile warmed my heart.  Tears filled his eyes and he said, “You don’t have to.”

I replied, “I know I don’t have to, I want to.” I then scurried away as to end the conversation and to assure he kept the money.  As I drove off, in a state of gratitude, I silently thanked my Innate for the thot-flash that prompted me and for its persistence in the matter.

We all have an Innate or we wouldn’t be alive and we all get thot-flashes; whether or not we heed them is an individual decision.   The irony is that rather than listening to Innate many people allow their educated (worldy) mind to cause an intervention and silence Innate.  In The Glory of Going On by BJ Palmer, Vol 37 in Chapter 5, How Does Innate Contact Education. BJ begins the chapter by attempting to (if possible to put truly put into words) the greatness of Innate.  He reminds readers that “Innate was immaculate enough to conceive, build, direct, control, regulate, and repair the building of a complete unit of a child in uterus in 280 days, surely it was immaculate enuf to tell the petty education of a few short years what to do, where, when, and why. (p. 57)” Really think about the complexity of a human, how a human begins with two tiny cells and in nine months there is a tiny person that emerges from the womb.  I am awed each time I see a newborn knowing that innate had perfect intention and in the eyes of that child that intention shines. Yet, we as educated people question Innate.   Because we don’t understand something and want to know when, why, where, what, and how or we wonder what others will think or how they will respond. But who is in charge?

In my opinion, the major misconception that educated beings have is that they are in charge. This could not be father from the truth.  We are in charge of nothing and Innate is in charge of everything and when it all boils down it really doesn’t matter who, what, when, where, or why because it will “just be” because the intention is so.

What do you do when Innate speaks? Do you listen and act or does your educated mind cloud Innate’s perfect intention. Do you question Innate and try to get an educated meaning and understand the why, when, how, where, and what? Each day I find myself becoming more and more Innate and trusting more in more in perfect intention and realizing more and more its not about me or what I think should be.  Ultimately, you have to ask yourself, “Do I trust Innate?”

Personally, I strive to be still and allow my Innate to flow from the above, down, inside, and out and trust in Innate’s perfect intention.  Yes, there are times my educated mind creeps in, like yesterday when it tried it’s best to sway me, but when I silence my educated mind and allow Innate to preside I always smile and know that all is as it should be and that it is always as it is intended.

May your Innate always flow from the above, down, inside, and out.

The Power of Simply Saying, “WHAT?”

“What?” in the world is going on with the people in the world? More and more I find the word “WHAT?” rolling off my tongue in utter shock in response to most things I hear these days! Sometimes, I feel like my grandma when I catch myself wondering what is happening in the world and with the people the world. We have gotten so far the root our creation, rather than trusting in God and His perfect design of the human body society has placed faith in man for fear that innate merely does not exist or in fact is not capable of maintaining our existence.  It is this shift in perspective of the percentage of humans that makes me say, think, and wonder “WHAT?”

In my opinion we don’t emphatically ask “WHAT?” enough. “WHAT?” in terms of “What are you talking about?” or “What does that mean?” or “What in the world?” And I don’t mean a weak “WHAT?” but a powerful, concerned, confused, “WHAT?” A “WHAT?” that makes the receiver of the “WHAT?” stop and think about the words that just formulated in their mind and rolled off their tongue. In my opinion, “WHAT?” is one of the most under used and powerful words that can be used to give H.O.P.E. (Helping Open People’s Eyes) and to wake people up! But, you have to say it like you are utterly confused and dumbfounded, come from a loving place, and say it with concern as to shake the current belief system of the average person on the planet earth.

My existence is very interesting, I live in the world but I don’t live with the world.  I see the world very different than the other 99.9% of its inhabitants.  Truthfully, if I didn’t have a copy of my birth certificate and the same forehead as my dad I would honestly entertain the idea that I may in fact be an alien from another planet. I have also entertained the idea that I am living in a movie similar to The Truman Show starring Jim Carey and that I am in fact in a “pretend” world where EVERYONE else is an actor/actress and the world salivates daily to watch my reaction to the nonsense I encounter, just to capture my reaction.  I’m fairly positive that neither is the case and if you know the truth please keep it to yourself and let me find out in due time, there is no rush.

It is the mindset of the majority of the people that I share this planet with that has me concerned and I find strength when I meet someone who is either from my planet or rather than sleeping they are awake.  Unlike most people I don’t believe that sick and dying is the way life was intended, that the body can not heal itself and needs the help of outside sources, that we are merely here to exist, that we have no control, and that anything I am told must be true.  Rather, I believe that sick and dying is an option, the body was designed to heal itself and simply needs no interference, I believe we all have a purpose, that we can control our own reality, and that most of what I hear from others is self-serving rather than true. While some may call me an optimist and others may claim I am crazy, there are those whose belief system is in line with mine and not only understand each other but our innates resonate at a cellular level.  Sadly, there are more that see my way of thought as “crazy” or “optimistic”; whatever the case I thoroughly enjoy the paradigm I have chosen to live in.

If I were to list out every single statement that I have heard within the last month that made me say, “WHAT?” there is a possibility that this blog would be in the running for the Guinness Book of Records for the World’s Longest blog.  I’ll list a few of my favorite words utter by others that have resulted in a “WHAT?” such as “I just got done with chemotherapy, I am healthy!” or “I’d rather be fat and sick than eat vegetables!” or “The prescription I am on made me healthy!” to all these statements I shockingly replied, “WHAT?” These are just a few of the many fallacies that society holds close to their heart and blindly follows it as concrete evidence that man is wiser than God.

In my opinion, the word “WHAT?” is a perfect wake up call, a siren if you will alerting the person with whom you are speaking to that the words they just utter shocked you and that you need explanation to understand.  It is at this time that they re-think their statement and can re-articulate if needed and or repeat the same statement.  You are now in the perfect position to ask questions regarding their “WHAT?” statement such as “Why do you believe that?” or “Who told you that?” or “Does that make to sense to you?” or “What does that mean?” These questions allow the individual to use the Socratic method to derive the necessary info to continue with their current belief or to make a necessary paradigm shift to enhance their life.

Start using “WHAT?”  Wake people up to the truth! Make them realize what they are saying is crazy! Wake them up to the truth…you owe it to them!

Sometimes Being in Balance Can Mean Saying, “No”

I am back to blogging after a three month break.  In December, I had many changes take place in my business and personal life which caused an increase in activities that I was required to accomplish.  Honoring the shifts in my life, I made the necessary changes to accommodate and remain in balance.  While I love blogging as a means of sharing my heart and fulfilling my purpose, blogging is not a priority.

The crisp spring air is not the only thing that is surfacing this first week of March, but joining the cleansing air of Spring is my blog.  It feels good to be back sharing my heart and igniting in others a new and enlightened conscious.  I am excited for my first blog of 2012, “The Power of Simply Saying, “WHAT?””

Do You Really Love Yourself? Set a Love Standard!

What’s Your Love Standard?

I remember the first time someone asked me if “I loved myself”.  Upon hearing it I immediately thought “Of course! What an odd question?”  But, after more thought and some internal reflection, I realized I wasn’t quite sure.  I began to ponder this question and really begin to understand what “loving myself” truly meant.  Today I can say that I love myself 100% and before truly understand the true meaning of “loving myself”, I truly only liked myself.

I want to clarify that loving oneself is not an egotistical I am “god” or I am “better” than view but a pure unadulterated and unconditional love that says I love myself despite and because.  Most people are cognitively aware of how to love another and that love must come with forgiveness, acceptance, and free of judgment; allowing love that is sincere, pure, abundant, and respectful. But, when it comes to loving ourselves we love with scrutiny and love others first before we love others, by doing this we are not only cutting ourselves short but are actually cutting the one’s we love short of fully loving them. It is a common misconception that you can love another more than you love yourself, you must love yourself first and foremost before you can fully love another.

It is imperative to set a “love standard” for yourself.  A standard that sets the tone for how much other’s should love you because it is how much you love yourself. To truly love yourself you must have genuine self-acceptance, limitless self-forgiveness, and a positive self-image.   In order to love yourself with the same sincerity, purity, abundance, and respect you love another you must first do this for yourself.

As creatures of habit and having learned from our mothers, fathers, teachers, and preachers we have and learned and constantly put loving others first and loving ourselves second and sometimes third or fourth.  The irony is that we seek from others the love we should be giving ourselves.  We want those we love to forgive us, to accept us, and to give us the positive feedback on image that we should be giving ourselves.  Repeatedly this behavior leaves us disappointed because we seek from another source when we must receive it from our internal source.  The instant you start loving yourself, you will see that others start giving you more love and it is more of the love you want to receive.

The law of giving and receiving is well known in the arena of loving another; giving others love to receive love.  But in the when it comes to loving ourselves we don’t love ourselves and that is why we never receive in full the love we want.  The minute you begin to make the conscious effort to love yourself you want others to love you and with the same standards that you love others you will truly begin to give and receive love in abundance, agape love; this is a love standard.  A love standard says: “This is how much I love myself, how much I will love you, and how much I want to be love.  Establishing this love standard will allow you to maximize the law of giving and receiving.  What’s your love standard? Are you cutting yourself and those you love short?

The Road Less Traveled vs. The Societal Highway

The Road Less Traveled vs. The Societal Highway

Going against the grain is an exhausting concept.  The concept of going against the flow of society is exhausting and lonely when you really think about it.   The decision to do something different is scary enough, without having to think that you will be alone and exhausted in doing so.  The simple concept of “going against the grain” makes many weary of change.  What if you weren’t going against the grain but rather taking the road less traveled? And you knew others had traveled it and been successful but it just wasn’t the most traveled; it wasn’t the societal norm?

Robert Frost said, “Two roads diverged in the woods and I took the one less traveled and that has made all the difference.” This simple quote is how I have decided to view my decisions for me in terms of health, wealth, goals, and choices. About ten years ago I began to really assess what path I wanted for my life. Doing the same things over and over gets us the same results over and over and knowing this to be true I wasn’t sure I liked the results I saw people getting.

As I began to look at society as a whole, I saw poverty, sickness, sadness, low vibration, and many more things that didn’t have the appeal that made me scream, “I want that”.  Knowing that God wanted me to be abundant in all things: health, wealth, thought, happiness, vibration, in any and everything, I knew that the average American was missing something and many were missing a lot of something that I wanted and was created to have.  The realization came that I was going to have to do something different to get different results.

In researching what I wanted for my life I realized that I there were others who had what I wanted, they were out there, they were just fewer in numbers.  Many would say I go against the grain in the terms of health, wealth, thought, goals, and choices; I see it as taking the road less traveled.   There is a combination of senses that comes with the realization that you are traveling a road less traveled, a sense of security and a sense of adventure.

By societal standards I am considered weird because I make choices that vary from the norm, that sway from the road less traveled.  I like to think I simply woke up and liked the feeling of being eyes wide open awake.  It’s really easy to get “sleepy” when you monotonously do the same actions that everyone else does.  When a large amount of people are doing the same thing it creates a force that almost pulls you along and pushes you without having to exert as much will power.  You simply go through the movements.  But when you get a wake up call and acknowledge it you, you realize that rather than living your life you are living the same life as everyone else.  Where is the adventure in that?

We all get several wake up calls throughout life, in relationships, health, wealth, etc. and just like anything it all depends on how we address that wake up call.  Nothing in life has meaning until we give it meaning.  My series of wake up calls led me to ask myself whether or not I was happy where my journey was taking me. Which led me to decide that the road less traveled was unknown but more appealing and has proven its self to be more of a scenic route.  I like to view it as traveling the back roads while the majority is taking the highway.  There is no right or wrong choice as long as you know where the highway is taking you and you approve of the destination.  There is something serene about enjoying the ride you are on as opposed to hanging on for dear life!
